Xiaomi’s first laptop may be launched next year: Report

After introducing products in the health, sports and gear categories, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi may introduce laptops in the coming days. A new report has given interesting information about the company’s first laptop. The report claims that like the company’s smartphones, the laptop will also have a great balance between price and performance.

Last month, Xiaomi’s hardware partner Inventec said that Xiaomi’s first laptop could be launched in 2016. A recent report has confirmed the same claim. DigiTimes Citing its sources, Samsung has informed that there will be two models of the laptop. One with a 12.5-inch display and the other with a 13.3-inch display. Their production will begin in the first quarter of 2016.

The report states that the company has placed an order of 250,000 units for the 12.5-inch model with Inventec and 500,000 units for the 13.3-inch model. For the 13.3-inch model, the company has tied up with Compal Electronics.
