Windows 7/ 8/ 8.1 users will get a free upgrade to Windows 10. Apart from this, new personal computers and tablets will also now come with this operating system. It is worth noting that the company had started the reservation system for the upgrade earlier this month. The company had said that Windows 10 will be released in phases.

This American company has made a big move with the release of the update. Through this, the company is trying to address the complaints of customers who were disappointed with the shortcomings of Windows 8. Microsoft has incorporated the good features of Windows 7 and Windows 8 in the new operating system. There will also be some new features in it. However, Windows 10 also has some shortcomings. It is not a perfect operating system by any means.

Microsoft claims that Windows 10 is the most secure Windows ever. The company says that this operating system will be delivered as a service and it will keep updating itself. Windows 10 is also being described as the last version of Windows. The new Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit have also been made available on Wednesday so that developers can develop apps for this operating system used on multi-devices.

Soon, new users will also be able to buy Windows 10 online and from retail stores. At present, its price in India has not been announced. As per the US, the price of Windows 10 Home is $119 (about Rs 7,500) and the price of Windows 10 Pro is $199 (about Rs 12,600).

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Pro Pack will be available for $99 (approximately Rs 6,300), by buying this pack, Windows 10 Home users can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. This means that you can upgrade from Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Home for free, after this if you feel the need for the features of the ‘Pro’ version, then you can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro by spending $99. Suppose you are assembling a new PC and you started the setup by buying Windows 10 Home and later you change your mind, then you can upgrade to the Pro version by paying $99. However, by doing this you will spend $19 more than buying Windows 10 Pro directly.

Speaking at the launch of Windows 10, Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India said, “Windows 10 is the best Windows ever. Starting today, it will be available as a free upgrade in 190 countries. It will also come bundled with new PCs and tablets. It is more personal and productive. It is more secure and safe. It will also be very easy to use and will be updated continuously. Around 1500 retail stores in India will help consumers upgrade to Windows 10.”
