Desktop, laptop and tablet sales in the country declined 13% year-on-year to 2.2 million units in the second quarter of 2015, according to a report released by research firm Gartner.

The US company Hewlett Packard (HP) continues to hold the top position with a market share of 26.3 per cent. However, the company’s sales have declined by 6.1 per cent. The company’s market share in the second half of 2014 is 29.4 per cent.

“The Indian PC market weakened during the quarter under review due to weak demand from the industry, yet again reflecting the weak business environment in Q2 2015,” he said.

Lenovo’s market share grew from 14 per cent to 18.1 per cent in the quarter under review. Dell’s market share grew by 2.7 per cent in the past one year, while Acer’s share declined by 3.1 per cent.
