Now a soft and flexible keyboard will come

Until now you must have worked on a hard plastic keyboard, due to which sometimes you may have felt pain in your hands, but a soft and flexible keyboard will get you relief from this soon. Scientists of Auckland University have created a very flexible and soft keyboard from a special type of rubber.

According to Daniel Xu, co-author of this research, “This keyboard is a thin sheet of a special rubber (dielectric elastomer).”

The keyboard is made of two sensing layers oriented at a 90-degree angle with a single layered structure. It is able to quickly exploit the mechanical coupling system with electrical separation.

The surface of this sensor keyboard is divided into 9 different sensing zones.

The researchers have used the rubber in video games to test its functionality and as a separate project, have also created a sensing glove that could be used in shooting games in the future.

A company called ‘StretchSense’ is creating a number of wearables using Sense stretching technology.

This study has been published in a journal called ‘Smart Materials and Structures’.
