Microsoft is reportedly working on a new all-in-one (AIO) PC under its Surface brand. The new Surface AIO PC is expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2016. The Redmond company is also expected to launch the second generation Surface Book later this year. The second generation Surface Book could be launched in the first half of 2017.

Digitimes According to a report, the second generation Surface Book will now be launched in the first half of 2017 instead of the second half of 2016. The reason for this delay is believed to be the delay in CPU shipments by Intel. Instead, Microsoft may launch a Surface AIO PC.

Citing industry sources, the report claims that “Surface AIO PCs will have a significant impact on the global AIO PC market, which is continuously shrinking due to the decline in PC products.” According to the report, the shipment of AIO PCs fell to 12.6 million in 2016 compared to 14 million shipments last year.

On Thursday, Microsoft announced the launch of 1TB Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 variants in 10 markets. In Australia, Austria, China, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Switzerland and the UK, customers can buy these devices from Microsoft stores, retail partners and official resellers. The Surface Book has not yet been launched in the Indian market.

Along with this, Microsoft is also expected to release Windows 10 Anniversary Update on its device platform on August 2. Those who already have Windows 10 installed will get this update for free, while users using older Windows versions will have to pay around $119 (about Rs 8,000) for the upgrade.
