Micromax launches its first laptop, priced below Rs 14,000

With an aim to strengthen its hold in the laptop segment, the country’s leading smartphone manufacturer Micromax has launched Canvas Lapbook. On this occasion, the company said that it aims to achieve 10 percent market share in the laptop segment in the next 12-18 months.

The company has launched its Canvas Lapbook for Rs 13,999. It will be available on e-commerce website Snapdeal from Friday. In the laptop segment, Micromax will compete with renowned brands like HP, Dell and Lenovo.

Micromax Chief Marketing Officer Subhajit Sen said, “Micromax has always tried to combine the best of technology with the needs and budget of the consumers. The Canvas Lapbook will fulfill the need for an affordable computer.”

“With our entry into the laptop category, our aim is to capture 10 per cent market share in the next 12-18 months,” he added.

Micromax Canvas Lapbook uses a 1.83 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor. The lapbook will run on Windows 10 operating system. It will come with dual speakers. It has an 11.6-inch HD IPS display and its inbuilt storage is 32 GB which can be expanded with the help of microSD card (up to 64 GB). The device has a 5000 mAh battery. According to the company, the battery will last for 11 hours in normal use. The weight of this lapbook is 1.3 kg.

With this Micromax launched its second generation Laptab has also introduced the Laptab LT7777. The Laptab LT7777 is priced at Rs 17,999 and will be available on Amazon India starting Tuesday.
