MacBook Pro 2016 Touch Bar variant available in India

Apple launched the new MacBook Pro 2016 in October. However, during this time the company did not give any information about making these products available in India. In mid-November, the company quietly launched the MacBook Pro 2016 variant without Touch Bar in the Indian market. Now the news is coming that the variant with Touch Bar has also become available.

The new MacBook Pro 2016 with Touch Bar variant is in stock at select dealers. Kerala-based Apple reseller IT Net Infocom has announced via Twitter that they have the new Touch Bar variants in stock. Prices for the 13-inch Touch Bar variant start at Rs 1,55,900 and the 15-inch variant starts at Rs 2,05,900.

We spoke to a Mumbai-based retailer in this regard. They said that they have not received any units. The 2016 MacBook Pro is not listed on any e-commerce site yet. It is possible that the company has just started making the stock available. Hopefully it will be available in more stores soon.

The most unique feature of the new MacBook Pro is the multi-touch control strip. Actually, it has now replaced the function buttons. Apple has named it Touch Bar. It is completely interactive and context sensitive. It shows many commands related to the system, and also adapts to different apps and workflows. During the launch, the company said that it also works as auto-completion of words, writing emails and filling tools. Apart from this, it can also be used during Photoshop tool selection, DJ mixing and video editing.

The app will show content across the screen when you move the controls on the Touch Bar. Multi-touch gestures mean you’ll be able to change the timeline too.

The new MacBook Pro also features Touch ID sensors integrated into the power button. Apple also revealed a new chassis design that makes the 13-inch MacBook Pro smaller and thinner than the company’s 13-inch MacBook Air. The new speakers are also claimed to offer better sound. The speakers are now located on both sides of the keyboard.

Now let’s talk about the specifications. These include Intel Core i5 and i7 6th generation CPUs, 8GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 13-inch model has a screen resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and has integrated Intel Iris 540 graphics. The 15-inch model has a screen resolution of 2880×1800 pixels and uses AMD Radeon Pro graphics.

The model that comes with the Touch Bar has four USB Type-C ports that support USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds along with Thunderbolt 3.
