Asus launches convertible ultra-portable laptop

Asus launched its new convertible laptop ZenBook Flip UX360 (ZenBook Flip UX360CA) last week. This Asus laptop is equipped with a 360-degree rotating display (converts into a tablet) and an all-metal body.

The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360, which comes with Windows 10 Home based operating system, is already available for purchase in the US. The base model with 256 GB SSD storage starts at $ 699 (about Rs 47,000) while the 512 GB SSD variant is priced at $ 799 (about Rs 53,700). Apart from this, a 128 GB storage variant will also be available but its price has not been revealed yet. This laptop will be available in Icicle Gold or Mineral Gray color.

The ZenBook Flip UX360 has a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS touchscreen. The screen density is 276 ppi. Apart from this, a QuadHD + (3200×1800 pixels) display variant will also be launched later. The ultra thin and ultra light laptop is 13.9 mm thick and weighs 1.3 kg.

The company claims that the battery will give up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. The ZenBook Flip UX360 comes with 8GB LPDDR3-1866 RAM (4GB RAM is also available, but price not disclosed) and Intel’s sixth generation Intel Core M processor with two cores and four threads. All three chipset models have Intel HD 515 for graphics.

In terms of connectivity, the ZenBook UX360 features Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Intel WiDi support, Bluetooth v4.1, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a micro-HDMI port, and an SD card reader.

According to the company, “Asus’s smart gesture technology has been used in the touchpad ZenBook Flip UX360. And it is claimed that this technology has been developed exclusively for the touchscreen of smartphones.” The company says that it is more sensitive and accurate.
