The book also talks about the huge costs associated with space travel. According to the report, in 2020, at a conference in Washington DC, Elon Musk said that if we do not improve our progress, I will definitely die before going to Mars. Apparently, Musk talked about the delay in human missions to space, especially Mars.
According to the report, humans are expected to reach Mars in the coming decades. However, it is difficult to establish a human settlement there because people will have to be made mentally and physically strong for long journeys.
Musk wants a cheap trip to Mars
Elon Musk has said that he wants to send humans to Mars at the lowest possible cost. Its cost can be less than 5 lakh dollars. Perhaps humans can reach Mars for less than 1 lakh dollars. However, Musk gave these figures in 2019, the cost of which will increase with time.
Talking about the building setup on Mars, in 2017 Musk had estimated that the cost of transporting material to Mars would be 1 lakh 40 thousand dollars per ton. He had estimated the budget of the entire setup to be 100 billion dollars. Musk has estimated the year 2050 for establishing human settlement on Mars.
Obviously this deadline can be extended further. Perhaps this is why Musk said, if we do not improve our progress, I will definitely die before reaching Mars.
