With the Windsor EV, MG Motors has offered battery-as-a-service. This battery rental option will reduce the cost of the vehicle and users will have to pay only for the use of the battery. Customers using this service will have to pay Rs 3.5 per kilometer. The aim of this facility is to make electric vehicles more affordable. This electric crossover has connected LED lights on both the front and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. The front of the Windsor EV has the MG logo below the connected LED DRL strip.
A charging port is provided on its front left fender. Windsor EV is available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black. Its cabin is designed keeping in mind the experience of both luxury and technology. It has black leatherette seats. Its flat bottom steering wheel is also wrapped in leatherette. Bookings for Windsor EV will start from October 3 and delivery from October 12. Reclining seats are provided in its rear. There is a 15.6 touchscreen on the dashboard of Windsor EV. Along with this, an 8.8-inch digital display is provided for the driver.
It also has features like automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, powered driver seat and panoramic glass roof. Its 38 kWh battery generates 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Its range on a single charge is around 331 km. The initial customers of Windsor EV will be given a full warranty on the battery. It can be charged in about 6.5 hours using a 7.4 kW AC fast charger. EV sales have grown rapidly in the country in the last few years. Tata Motors has the largest share in this segment. Big automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki are also preparing to bring their EVs.
